The following are the postings received this week. They are also available together with previous postings on our website.
• Please note that there will be no Community Information Bulletin the week of September 14th to September 20th. All posting requests received this week will be posted on the following week’s bulletin. The deadline to submit a request will be Monday, September 22nd 2014 at 12 noon.
• Now is the time to purchase a copy of the the latest Directory of Ottawa Community Services.
• The Community Information Center of Ottawa is compiling its annual list of Thanksgiving meals that will be offered throughout the city.
• Tell cancer it barked up the wrong tree at the 2014 Canadian Cancer Society Bark for Life event on October 4th.
• The new Ottawa chapter of Dying With Dignity will host a showing of the Canadian documentary film “The Trouble with Dying”, narrated by Christopher Plummer. It will be followed by a discussion with Dr. Gerald Ashe, a palliative care physician September 9th.
• The Amethyst Women’s Addiction Centre Speaker Bureau Training takes place on September 16th.
• The Canadian Red Cross Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) in Ottawa provides short-term rentals of health equipment.
• The Good Companions are offering the following educational lectures and special events in September: Antique Dolls Show on September 23rd; a Welcome Back Dinner and Welcome Back Dance on September 11th; Mid-Autumn Festival on September 24th.
Employment & Volunteering
• The Community Information Centre of Ottawa is compiling a candidates’ inventory for the Information and Referral Counselors position.
• The Centretown Community Health Centre is hiring a Full-time Bilingual Medical Receptionist.
• The Carlington Community Health Centre is hiring a SWAG After School Worker.
• Lowertown Good Neighbours Community House is looking to hire Child and Youth Workers.
Professional Development
• The Centre for Treatment of Sexual Abuse and Childhood Trauma presents Joyanna Silberg, Ph.D: A step by step approach to treating dissociative children and adolescents, October 10th.
• You can now consult the Y Newcomer Information Centre September Workshops and Events Calendar.
• Family Services Ottawa is offering the following courses as part of its Parenting Edge series: Just for Dads… parenting when you’re single; FRIENDS for life (an anxiety prevention program for children 7-9 years with mild to moderate anxiety); You’re not the boss of me… positive discipline for 0-6 yr olds and Parenting through Separation and Divorce.

• The Curvy Girls Scoliosis Support Group of Ottawa invites you to their 3rd Anniversary Celebrations on September 27th.
• The Men’s Project Sexual Integrity Group Therapy program (10-week long) starting October 8th. Call now to book your assessment.

• Veuillez noter qu’il n’y aura pas de Babillard d’information communautaire la semaine du 14 septembre. Toutes les demandes d’affichage reçues cette semaine seront affichées sur le prochain babillard. La date de tombée pour soumettre une demande sera lundi, le 22 septembre 2014 à midi.
• C’est le temps d’acheter la plus récente édition du Répertoire des services communautaires d’Ottawa.
• Le Centre d’information communautaire d’Ottawa compile sa liste annuelle de repas de l’Action de grâces gratuits à travers la ville.

• Le Centre d’information communautaire d’Ottawa établit un répertoire de candidats pour le poste de conseiller(ère) en information et aiguillage.
• Montfort Renaissance est à la recherche d’un(e) conseiller(ère) en réadaptation psychosociale – soutien communautaire et d’un(e) conseiller(ère) en réadaptation psychosociale – soutien judiciaire/déjudiciarisation.
